Assouline is the World's first luxury brand on culture. Their store in Piccadilly is a one-of-a-kind, selling the most beautiful books and special editions alongside unique interiors in amongst a beautiful bar and luxury space, an ideal location for an event space and a perfect brand to build an Indulgence Bar® around.
We literally re-created a selection of books and other fabulous resident artefacts. Our interpretation included a revolving chess set, leopard print cake stand and a statue, all out of cake.
The first book created and published by founders, Prosper & Martine Assouline was this, La Colombe d’Or, a hotel and restaurant in the South of France known all over the world as a privileged place where the Provençal art de vivre goes hand in hand with an astonishing private collection of modern art. It was our job to now create an edible version of the book!
We managed to absorb the vibrant colours of the room into our mini sweet treats with a branded gold edged cookie thrown in for good measure.

A deliciously light and moist vanilla sponge cake carefully carved into this work of art, inspired by the statue inside Maison Assouline. Anything can be made of cake, very subtly too.
Now who would have thought that a game of chess using chocolate covered baby oreos would be so deliciously entertaining? The monogram cookies were inspired by high fashion of the 50s and 60s.
Creating this fully edible Indulgence Bar® was an amazing experience, not only for the GC Couture team but for Maison Assosuline's guests at this private event.
